Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence
Mobile Infirmary Medical Center is an American Society for Bariatric Surgery (ASBS) Center of Excellence. The ASBS Center of Excellence designation recognizes surgical programs with a demonstrated track record of favorable outcomes in bariatric (weight loss) surgery.
To be eligible for ASBS designation, a hospital must perform at least 125 bariatric surgeries annually, and individual surgeons must perform at least 50 surgeries each year.
To earn a Center of Excellence designation, Mobile Infirmary Medical Center underwent a series of site inspections. Lamar Snow, M.D., FACS, is a Center of Excellence bariatric surgeon and the bariatric medical director. Our other bariatric surgeons include: L. Steve Weinstein, M.D., Jeffrey K. Hannon, M.D., Daniel R. Lane, M.D., and Forrest G. Ringold, M.D.
